The story of Dromid Pearses so far...
Any information/pictures regarding the History of the Club is always greatly appreciated.

The Dromid Pearses club was founded in 1946 by Sean "Hard" Curran in a backlash against near neighbours Waterville.

One of the outstanding achievements of this present day club is the purchase of a football field from the Irish Land Commission at Inchanatina, Mastergeehy, and the development into a super pitch in a short space of time. Dressing rooms were added later, and the official opening of the field took place on October 20th, 1991. All this would not have been possible without the wonderful support we got from the local Roinn Na Gaeltachta and the G.A.A.

One of the highest points reached by our Senior Football team was the winning of the Sean Curran Cup in 1979, victory being achieved over Waterville in the Final.

Do dhein Piarsaigh Na Dromada stair i bPairc an Ghearltaigh i gCill Airne san chead Domhnach i nDeire Forhair 1990 nuair a bhuaigh said cluiche ceannais noibheasach B don chead uair riamh. Taisteal slua mor on Paroiste agus bhi athas an domhain orthu nuair a sleid an reitoir an feadog deireanach. Le déanaí, bhuaamar Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta dha uair i rith na naochodi. Bhi an-oiche again san Inny Tavern nuair a thugamar an chorn abhaile bhi tinnti cnamh reidh don bhfoireann agus bhi slua mor ann o Paroiste agus Chiarrai Theas ar fad agus taimid fior buioch diobh go leir.

The club has a long tradition of participating in Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsear. In scór, we have been performing very well thanks to the help we have been getting from the local Craobh Of Comhaltas, who have always made their talents available.

In recent years, the club have developed a magnificant stand which holds 300 people as well as the wheel chair bound. They are also erecting  two new dug outs, new goalposts and new netting. New state of the art floodlights were also installed at the GAA Grounds..

Hopefully in the near future, there will be pictures of this developement available to view on this website.
