The
Dromid Pearses club
was founded in 1946 by Sean "Hard" Curran in a backlash against
near neighbours Waterville.
One of the outstanding achievements of this present day club is the purchase
of a football field from the Irish Land Commission at Inchanatina, Mastergeehy,
and the development into a super pitch in a short space of time. Dressing
rooms were added later, and the official opening of the field took place on
October 20th, 1991. All this would not have been possible without the wonderful
support we got from the local Roinn Na Gaeltachta and the G.A.A.
One of the highest points reached by our Senior Football team was the winning
of the Sean Curran Cup in 1979, victory being achieved over Waterville in
the Final.

The club has a long tradition of participating in Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsear.
In scór, we have been performing very well thanks to the help we have been
getting from the local Craobh Of Comhaltas, who have always made their talents
available.
In recent years, the club have developed a magnificant stand which holds 300 people as well as the wheel chair bound. The club have also erected two new dug outs, new goalposts and new netting and have a state of the art scoreboard (kindly sponsored by Humphrey O'Connor of Tabhairne na hAoine), which has a countdown clock built in.
New
state of the art floodlights were also installed at the GAA Grounds in October
2005
